其他說明:1.吳潛誠於台大外文系副教授期間借調東華大學創辦英美語文學系，迄1999年11月逝世前，往返台北花蓮之間，出席研討會或授課均使用本書包裝置教學等資料，書生身影令文壇與學子印象深刻。
2.吳潛誠自1989年左右留學歸國，到1999年過世，其在台灣學界活動的時間大約有十年。在這十年間，他致力於教書、研究、撰述、參與東華大學英美語文學系系務；雖以英語文學、尤其是愛爾蘭文學為研究範疇，但內心真正繫念、致力推動的則是台灣的文學發展。他而日日奔波於學院與家居之間，隨身攜帶此黑色公事包，將授課講義、撰述中的文稿、出席研討會的論文⋯⋯等資料盡收於此。多年來，此一「書包」彷彿吳潛誠的行動資料庫，伴隨其身影，出現在各種文學活動場合。

Description:From around 1989, when he returned from overseas study until his death in 1999, Wu Qiancheng was active in Taiwan literary circles for about ten years. During these ten years, he devoted himself to teaching, research, writing, and participating in department affairs of the Department of English at National Dong Hua University. Although his research area was English literature, especially Irish literature, it was the development of Taiwan literature that in his heart he really worried about and devoted efforts to promoting. As he rushed daily between home and university, he carried with him this black briefcase in which he put his lecture notes, manuscripts he was writing, conference papers, etc. For many years this “book bag” was like a mobile database for Wu, with him at every minute and present at literary gatherings everywhere.
