Description:This book was published in 1948. Originally only 160 pages long, it was written while the author was sojourning in Beijing. Seventeen years later Zhang added material on reminiscences of his childhood, troubles of his youth, and thoughts and political opinions of his middle years, as well as his ideological views at the time, and this expanded edition was then published. The author’s ideological starting point was based on the logic of traditional Chinese thinking, thus although the book was an exploration of the author’s own thinking, it was also a reflection of traditional Chinese thought.

其他說明:本書初版於1948年，原書僅160多頁，大多寫於作者旅居北京期間；相隔17年之後，加入包含敘寫童年回憶、青年時代的煩惱、中年期的思想言論，以及作者當時的思想主張等作，增訂再版。作者思想的基點建立在中國傳統思考的邏輯上，因此，本書雖為作者對自己思想的檢討，卻也同時是對中國傳統思想的反思。
