其他說明:這本書係戰後初期由政府編印的中學國文教科書，適用於中學高年級，其編輯宗旨主要針對當時台灣語文教育進程，以「推行國語」為目標，所選文類以記敘、說明文為主，《高級國語文選》則酌增議論文，透過所選文章「使學生自具體的事物記述，以學習本國語言文字」；並且以「本國現代文人寫現代事物的作品」為研習對象，「以植其進而涵濡本國文化思想之基礎」，作者大都為現代作家，除了後來的中學國文課本常見的孫文、蔣中正、胡適、朱自清、徐志摩等，還包括三○年代左翼作家魯迅、老舍、蕭乾、曹禺、茅盾、巴金等。

Description:This book is Chinese language secondary school textbooks compiled and printed by the government in the immediate postwar period meant for use in senior high school. The purpose of these texts was focused on Taiwan language education of the day, the goal being to “promote the National Language,” i.e., “Mandarin” or “Standard Chinese.” Materials selected were primarily narrative and expository literature, but the Advanced text added argumentative essays. By means of these readings “students will study the nation’s language from concrete topics”; in addition, “works on modern topics by modern Chinese writers” will become the object of study “in order to establish a foundation so students will be immersed in the nation’s cultural ideology.” Most of the material is written by modern authors. In addition to Sun Yat-sen, Chiang Kai-shek, Hu Shih, Zhu Ziqing, and Xu Zhimo, writers frequently seen in subsequent middle school textbooks, these include leftist writers of the 1930s, like Lu Xun, Lao She, Xiao Qian, Cao Yu, Mao Dun, and Ba Jin.
