Description:This collection contains 124 song/poems (ci) written between 1932 and 1950. The first page is an inscription by the author: “For Review by Teacher Yi Cheng Respectfully Presented by Xiao Jizong, January 16, 1980.” Xiao says that in writing song/poems “one must seek true rules, one should seek assistance, but as for the words themselves, one simply needs to get the idea across.” In this collection we can see the author’s attempts at innovation, for example, he uses Western music: in “Blue Bridge Lament” (to mourn patriotic martyrs), he adds lyrics to the popular Auld Lang Syne tune, and in “Linden Tree” he adds the lyrics to the tune of Franz Schubert’s “Der Lindenbaum,” and when he creates his own new ci tunes, such as “The Milky Way is Falling,” he adds the lyrics of Schubert’s “Wasserflut.” In addition there are some bilingual pieces in both Chinese and English, such as “Remembering the Prince,” those are accompanied by English translations.
This is original material. In addition to creating within the existing ci tune tradition, these pieces represent the poet’s attempt to add new life to writing ci song/poems.

其他說明:本詞集收錄1932至1950年詞作共124首。首頁有作者自題「毅成吾師教正蕭繼宗敬贈六十九年一月十五日」，其自言作詞「必求真律，欲求協，辭惟求達而已」。本詞集可見作者創新嘗試，如以西洋音樂填詞：〈藍橋怨〉( 悼一江山殉國諸烈用流行曲AULD LANG SYNE 試填)、〈菩提樹〉( 曉望用舒伯特(F‧Schubert) Der Lindenbaumð 曲試填)，均附有詞譜。並自創新詞牌，如〈銀河落九天〉以舒伯特名作Wasserfluth 填詞等；此外亦有中英對照譯作，如〈憶王孫〉，並附有英文原作。均為作者在既有詞牌創作外，嘗試以新的方式為詞的創作添注新生命。
