其他說明:「…一向做著日本菜的名廚，忽然『味噌』『鰹節』變了『鹿筋』『熊掌』的時候，自然會感覺到『不知如何是好』。…這是台灣文化界，光復以來的苦悶。…」，《台灣文化》創刊時的發刊詞〈文協的使命〉，說明了戰後初期台灣人民普遍對身份轉換的無所適從。以推動台灣文化為宗旨的「台灣文化協進會」於民國35年（1946）6月在台北中山堂召開成立大會，結集當時的知識分子，頗具盛況，同年發行《台灣文化》，主編先後為蘇新、楊雲萍及陳奇祿，雜誌內容初期定位為綜合性文化雜誌，如文學作品、綜合性時事摘要評論、文化活動訊息、引介西方新的文化理論等，惟至第5卷（民38）轉為純學術研究發表之學報，發行至1950年12月1日停刊。

Description:“…for a longtime famous chef of Japanese cuisine, when suddenly the “miso” and the “katsuobushi” become “deer sinew” and “bear’s paw,” naturally he will ‘be at a loss about what to do.’ This was the agonizing predicament of the Taiwanese cultural world following Retrocession.” The inaugural statement in the first issue of Taiwanese Culture, “The Mission of the Taiwanese Culture Association,” explained how the Taiwanese population in the immediate postwar period was at loose ends about their identity transformation. To promote the Taiwanese Culture Association, whose guiding principle was Taiwanese culture, an organizing conference was held in Taipei at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in June 1946 gathering together the intellectuals of the day for an impressive event. In that same year Taiwanese Culture began publication and was successively edited by Su Xin, Yang Yunping, and Chen Qilu. The initial orientation of the magazine was that of a general cultural publication, with literary pieces, general commentary on digests of current affairs, news about cultural activities, and an introduction to new western cultural ideas. By Vol. 5 (1949), however, it had become a purely academic journal for research publication. It ceased publication on December 1, 1950.
