Description:This book contains 34 poems, including “Dying in the Daylight,” “The Road Has a Thousand Trees and a Thousand Trunks,” “Nevertheless,” “Wild Goose,” “The Moth,” and “Hurry Up.” This is a collection of pioneering poetry that seeks to grasp the power of thought about the nature of language itself through slang and the vernacular as it creates a new milestone. It is experimental, musical, pictorial in its poetic language like Qiu’s earlier works that emphasized form—The Death of a Moth, The Wind Rose. In the “Afterword” Bai Qiu calls upon poets to face squarely the weakness of poetic language believing that the only way to improve the quality of poetry is to improve the language.
