Introduction:The Tourist Party of Hong Kong & Kowloon Pork Traders General Association presented this ivory boat on October 31, 1963. It is placed in a carton covered the top with a transparent plastic film, and a dedication card and the Chairperson's personal card are attached inside the box.

The boat in a model of painted pleasure boat is carved out from a single piece of ivory and raised on a wood base. On the boat, there are finely carved masts, sails, oars, cabins, windows and doors, and figures. The balls on the tips of the banners erected on the bow are inscribed with red characters "Celebrations" and "Living a Long Life," which are quite innovative. The base is attached a square ivory plaque inscribed with red characters of "May Your Life Be as Long as the Long Lasting Mountains and Rivers," a dedication "In celebration of President Chiang Kai-shek's 77th birthday," the lower part "Respectfully, the Tourist Party of Hong Kong & Kowloon Pork Traders General Association," and the date "October 31, 1963."

Since the Republic of China has established a stable economic and political conditions in Taiwan, a large number of overseas Chinese and foreign visitors would come to Taiwan to attend the occasions of National Day on October 10, Taiwan Retrocession Day on October 25 , and the celebration of President Chiang's birthday on October 31. These occasions displayed the significance of paying allegiance and celebrations to the country from the whole world; therefore, Chiang Kai-shek, when he was still alive, paid special attention to this series of activities.
