Introduction:"Chiang Kai-shek believed in Jesus Christ and in order to have a new translation of the Bible, he had even commanded John Ching Hsiung Wu, Ph.D., to translate the Bible into Chinese, during his spare moment, while fighting against Japanese aggressions. Wu would regularly send each translated chapter to him for his close reading, and Chiang Kai-shek had often carefully marked them with a red and blue pencil.
On August 30, 1979, Wu Ching Hsiung returned Chiang's original manuscript to KMT History Committee to be treasured up, and Chin Hsiaoyi, Chairman of Committee, received it at Wu's residence in Yangmingshan. In 1986, the manuscript was made a copy and a set of six thread-bound books, of which the book case is 31 cm high, but did not print and publish it."
