Introduction:Photography studios were the symbol of advancement during the Japanese colonial era. Men and women longing for modernity were the targets of photography studios. To remain competitive, they developed various techniques, including double exposure, triple exposure, and cross-dressing for men and women. Photographer Lin Shou-Yi in this photo with his cosplay lady friends at his Lin Studio was an early “selfie.”
