Category:Ink Painting

Media:Ink and color on paper

Size description:68×82cm

Introduction:This work depicts waves crashing against the shore, with rocks distributed from the lower left and lower right to upper right of the painting. It is segmented into near, middle, and distant parts, forming a generally diagonal composition. As the waves encounter the rocks, they splash and scatter in all directions, creating a sense of space in the artwork. The white waves and black rocks starkly contrast in light and shadow, capturing the severe atmosphere of winter. The rocks are painted with bold, dense ink, and the ink painting techniques such as alum water and salt-sprinkling are used to depict the dynamic motion of seawater and waves. Combined with wiping, dotting, washing strokes, and variations in ink intensity, the painting delicately captures the changing light and shadows, representing the volatile forms of the waves. Employing abstract elements of dots, lines, and planes, along with rich variations in brushwork and ink techniques, the painting portrays the formless nature of water, showcasing the innovation and expressive power of modern ink painting.
