Introduction:Portrayed in the center foreground of the painting is a cliff emerging from the clouds, with distant mountains covered in mist, creating an overlapping arc composition. The middle ground disappears, sharply contrasting the defined cliff with the hazy mountains. A stream cascades between two rocks and passes through a tiered pond before tumbling further, reminiscent of Northern Song Dynasty landscape paintings. The mountaintop is constructed from rocks of various sizes, with grasslands and clusters of trees at the peak. Hsia Yi-fu masterfully carved the rock layers with fine lines of dry and dark ink, applying dense ink dots in shaded areas and filling light ink to create a three-dimensional effect. The use of large blank space for clouds and mists starkly contrasts with the solid rocks, creating a powerful contrast of blank and painted spaces; the treetops employ various foliage painting techniques such as needles, clip, and dot leaves, offering rich variation and crafting a celestial ambiance.
