Introduction：This watercolor landscape by Lee Chien-yi depicts the scenery of the Yangjin Highway, which is part of the Taiwan Provincial Highway No. 2 (A Line) that connects Jinshan and Yangmingshan. The highway, which passes through multiple scenic spots, includes the Yangmingshan National Park. It was the third year after Yangmingshan National Park became open to the public when Lee painted this watercolor. In the painting, the constellations of terraced fields and woodlands on the mountain slopes formed a spectacular composition, which demonstrates the artist's pursuit of a sense of form. The elegant color tones combined with the expression of watercolor rendering and layering are a validation of his perfect mastery of watercolor techniques.
