Introduction:In this work, the artist applies the concept of "perspective" as a tool for exploring the act of "watching." Using virtual images created through digital computer graphics, Tsai simulates the scenes of traditional shadow play, the act of watching film negatives through a lightbox, and the 1920s art of photogram. The notion of "perspective" is imbued with the essence of unveiling hidden truths, prompting this work to become an inquiry into the dichotomy of "virtuality" versus "reality." In an era dominated by media, how do we pierce through facades to discern the real? Much like in this piece, the "puppeteer" we watch is, in fact, manipulated by the concealed hands of the artist.
