Introduction:This painting depicts an old man with white hair and a beard sitting on a wooden chair by the harbor, watching the sunset over Mt. Guanyin across the Tamsui River. The sky appears distorted by the intense brushstrokes. Different colors are mixed to create the splendid sunset. The brightly red sun descends from the sky like a fiery ball, casting a long yellow light on the water surface. On top of Mt. Guanyin, which is delineated in a dark color tone, rolling gray-white mountain mist looks like thin threads, interweaving with the sunset and colorful clouds. This natural phenomenon is known as "Mt. Guanyin Puffs Mist," which is one of the famous "eight scenes of Tamsui." At the lower right corner, a couple of boats are moored by the riverbank, while a modern ship is sailing on the river. This contrast is echoed by the old man looking towards Mt. Guanyin, probably sighing over the changes in Tamsui. At the same time, the painting is also a self-portrayal and reflection of Lee Yung-two, who was entering the late years of his life at that time.
