Introduction:This work combines watercolor and pencil drawing. The foreground is a lush garden, where different types of tree look thriving. The middle ground is a modern redbrick high-rise building, accompanied by a long, column-shaped monumental archway sculpture, enlivening the dull, boxy architectural structure. Shih Tsui-feng first creates the composition with pencil drawing, and sketches out the changing shades of trees and bushes, as well as the bright and dark areas of the building and the sculptural decoration. He then applies a thin layer of light colors, and finally outlines the silhouette of the scenery with lines possibly drawn with a felt-tip pen or a pen. At the lower right corner of the image is a signature that reads “Shih Tsui-feng, 1990.”
