Introduction:Lin Tzu-chuan draws inspiration from the children's game of playing house, an allegory for considering the possibility of free will in societal constructs. While children playing house seem to wield control over the game, they are, in essence, learning socially acceptable behaviors, presenting an ironic juxtaposition of controlled freedom and the invisible hands of societal norms. A closer examination of each image in the "Playing House Series" reveals that the components don't quite fit together, suggesting that the "failure" of these toy structures might prompt viewers to question whether the paths to "success" might represent self-imposed confines within human society.
