- GDESC:保育等級：International Union for Conservation of Nature紅皮書中屬低危物種(Least Concern)類別。
  
  型態：白鼻心最明顯的特徵為頭部有由後腦延伸至吻端的白色縱帶，全身毛皮以黑色為主，眼睛及耳朵下方亦有白斑，其尾巴呈棒狀且長度僅略短身體。
  
  生態：白鼻心(P. l. taivana)為臺灣特有亞種，本亞種原產於臺灣，主要棲息在海拔2693m以下的森林，其餘亞種則廣泛分布於亞洲亞熱帶至熱帶區域的山林中。肛門附近有臭腺可用來抵禦天敵。白鼻心為夜行性動物，主要以果實為主食，但也會以小型脊椎及無脊椎動物為食。
  
  形質：白鼻心體長約50公分，尾長則可達40公分，體重最重可達5公斤。
  
  標本資訊：本件標本為雌性個體，採集時間為1958/03/03，採集地點為臺灣(24°51'14.3" N 121°33'23.7" E)，本標本吻肛長為450mm，尾長280mm，採剝製毛皮後乾燥以立姿標本形式保存，具有棲架，皮毛略為褪色。
