- GDESC:草花蛇，Fowlea flavipunctatus (Hallowell, 1860) ，黃颔蛇科 Colubridae
  性別：雄性成體，吻肛長：564 mm，尾長：170 mm。浸液標本。
  草花蛇全長最大約可達120公分，眼下及後各有1條黑色細紋平行的斜向後下方至上唇及嘴角處，後頭部有一細的V或W字型斑紋，體背面橄欖褐色到黃褐色，並雜有許多不規則的黑色斑紋，身體前半段的黑色斑紋呈棋盤狀排列；體中段鱗列數為19列。
  分布於臺灣本島、金門1,000公尺以下地區。另中國大陸南部、巴基斯坦、斯里蘭卡、東南亞也有分布。日行性，喜棲於鄰水田、沼澤等濕地及近水域的農墾地與草生地，本種原本極為常見但近年數量急劇減少。卵生，於春夏間產卵，每窩約可產卵30枚以上，孵化期約2個半月，仔蛇長約19公分。以兩棲、魚、昆蟲、蜥蜴、鳥、鼠等為食。
