A blue and white porcelain vase is filled with pink roses. Due to the influence of the ultramarine hues, the roses appear purplish red. Fluid lines were used to create the contours of the vase and flowers. The background is off-white. The wall, flowers and leaves blend together to create a visual effect that is so vivid there seems to be the fragrance of roses in the air. The painter's signature is partly hidden in the lower left corner, ingeniously producing a balanced dialogue.
