This painting, Evidence of Time, the subjects are three indigenous Atayal tribe elders. The male on the right is wearing a round rattan cap and smoking a bamboo pipe. He seems lost in thought. The woman on the left is wearing a head ornament. There is a V-shaped tattoo across her face. In her left hand, she is holding a cane. As the elderly man in the back looks on at the two people in front of him, time seems to stand still. This artist uses the traditional facial tattoos of the Atayal people to echo the theme of "evidence of time". He accurately and meticulously depicts their clothing and ornaments. .
