Swinhoe's pheasant is a rare bird found only in Taiwan. Its resplendent and noble image and colors have earned it the nickname Taiwan's peacock. The male features pure white tail feathers and shiny blue feathers along its body. Its head is lifted as it leisurely strolls through forest. As this species is very cautious and prone to moving about quietly, it is difficult to observe in the wild.
