This painting, Colorful Fields and Mountains, was completed by Yang at the age of 47. He captures the moment the sun setting in the west, illuminating the rose-colored clouds. The sky is embellished in shades of orange and pink, bathing the mountains and fields below in light. Overlapping brush strokes enhance the layered feel. The hills and mountains fade among the colors, displaying this artist's sensitivity to the variations in the landscape.
Yang brought his personal sensibility to his works no matter in terms of color or rational composition. Through Yang's eyes and works, we can experience the beauty of Taiwan's rural landscapes.
