　　 Strangely shaped rock formations along the coast and hilly islets are the attractions of Yeliu. Chen made good use of his sketching skills in this depiction of rock formations produced by water and wave erosion. Chen devoted his whole life to painting and intensely studied the application of color. He experimented with many new methods and created a unique style by integrating Nihonga, water and ink painting and oil painting.
