Chrysanthemums

YOSHIO,CHANG

Oil Painting

1987

Length:90.5 x Width:72.5 (cm)

Accession Number:A0004

Chang Yi-Hsiung was influenced by Cubism, using blocks of color to distinguish the background and the objects and black lines to create contour. This is an outstanding example of his Western painting techniques. A palette knife was used in the creation of this painting, the composition of which is simple and well-executed. The chrysanthemums are the focal point, brightening up the rather dreary space.
