Lukang is a centuries-old town in Changhua County. It was once Taiwan's most prosperous commercial port. Thus, there were many businesses and wealthy people. Large homes were of solid structure but with mottled walls. This old home with discarded four-wheeled cart in front is bathed in a warm nostalgic glow. The people passing by seem to be living in the same time as us. Although they appear small and have to carry heavy loads, it is as if they are chasing time, walking step by step toward the future.
He was adept at applying thick paint using a palette knife to create the texture of buildings and rocks. This allowed for rich variations. He also made use of lively colors.
