This painting was completed by Shih at the age of 68. Different from many other painters, Shih placed Guanyin Mountain in the bottom one-third of the scene and used purplish gray clouds to present the beauty of sunset. In the lower right corner, several small boats are anchored, representing the return home of the fishermen from a day's work along the Tamsui River. Although "people" are not directly depicted in this scene, the artist was mindful of making a human connection in this work.
