Grabbing the Dragon Pearl depicts a festival in which there are people playing traditional percussion instruments. The golden dragon is excitedly dancing, its scales giving off light. Its glaring eyes are wide open, as in its mouth are revealed pointed teeth. It aims for the golden dragon pearl, repeatedly trying to catch it. The dragon, onlookers and musicians seem to blend together in a crescendo of emotion. This artist used quick and animated brushstrokes to create this colorful, semi-abstract work that presents the excitement of grabbing the dragon pearl.
