It portrays the rich folk customs of Taiwan's temples. This particular subject was not well represented among Chen's works. The layout is both grandiose and exquisite. The busy temple and crowds of worshippers present a lively atmosphere with orderly moving in and out under the masterful arrangement of this artist. This reflects the kindness of folk religious beliefs and the solemnity of religion. There is warm sunlight and in the upper left corner a cloud floats by. There is natural illumination of this thriving temple filled with incense sticks and candles, infusing it with a divine light and spiritual atmosphere.
