The artist used fluid movements to record the exterior of the Taipei Zushi Temple using charcoal pencil. Its elaborate facade reveals its importance in folk religious beliefs. The silhouettes of passersby and those coming to worship are those of local residents and tourists. They are the traces of everyday hospitality and friendliness. There is a stiffness to the rough lines and the presentation of the open style of Eastern temples. The skill of this self-taught artist is revealed in this work.
