This artist completed this work at the age of 51. Through abstract and spiritual expression, it is as if this artist is leading observers through a doorway to the fantastical world of the goddess Mazu. The background is dark which sets off the brightness of the divine light. This use of contrast as an esthetic expression was characteristic of this artist. It was also a projection of his life philosophy.
