There is liberal use of golden hues, which brighten the painting and add warmth to the structures. From the boats to the houses to the mountains in the background, dark green appears among the golden hues. The blue of the mountains intertwines with the sienna. There is a strong dark-light contrast and rich variation in color. The brushstrokes are unrestrained and straightforward in this depiction of a Yeliu fishing village with mountains to the back and ocean to the front.
