This painting, Sunset Over a Small Stream, was completed by this artist at the age of 59. Emerald green leaves of the shade trees brighten up the pale yellow sky. From the foreground on, the scene becomes very harmonious. Simple residences make up the background. The cut stones lining the stream follow its course and are illuminated by the rays of the setting sun. This makes this seem as if there is movement of the water and corresponds well with the theme of this painting.
