A V-shaped composition is provided by the bamboo thicket along the water. Within this thicket is an egret nest. Among the snowy white down of the fledglings is a light, flesh-like color. They are clamoring for food with their beaks slightly open. The mother bird gazes tenderly at her offspring, revealing her hope that they grow up safely.
Maternal Love depicts the interactions of adult and juvenile egrets. Moreover, it is a record of the beautiful scenery that once existed in bamboo forests around lakes and rivers all over Taiwan. However, with the urbanization of rural areas, such scenes have gradually disappeared.
