Liu's indigenous heritage is from her mother, who was a member of the Truku tribe. She is passionate and romantic and possesses a down-to-earth nature. She is an excellent singer and dancer. From a young age she has loved to draw. In this work, two sisters work together to husk rice using a pestle and mortar. The flat coat technique makes this appear like a sketch.
Liu, who was once a television actress, left show business following her marriage. That is when she started to create art. Through the arrangement of wood pestle, wood mortar and wood plate, she attempts to describe the physical labor involved in the traditional methods of husking rice.
