Length:31.5 x Width:41 (cm)
From the left side, a green hill extends horizontally in the foreground. This leads to an area of green grassland in the middle distance, connected via continuous and fine brushstrokes to acacia forest. Step by step the line of sight moves to Guanyin Mountain on the far side of the Tamsui River. The entire scene is shrouded in morning haze and fog.
Following the tragedy of his father's death due to the 228 Incident of 1947, he was constantly faced with seeing Guanyin Mountain. He was fond of listening to classical music as he painted. This work is filled with a sense of longing. This series of paintings was produced following a long period of observation at different times of the day to improve depictions of light and shadow, as well as the dialogue of colors. To Liao, creating art was the pursuit of truth and eternity, as well as the concrete representation of his love for Taiwan.
