Oil Painting
Length:45 x Width:53 (cm)
The Bitan Suspension Bridge was completed in 1937, during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan (1895-1945). From that time to today, it has been a major tourist attraction of Taipei. Although this slightly arched reinforcing bar suspension bridge is only 200 meters in length, it has carried the weight of many residents and tourists, as well as their sweet memories. It is worth noting that the boulders, trees and water were all painted using the masking method. This livens up the changes in light and shadow, as this painting features mostly dark colors. On the water's surface are dots that represent the heads of brave swimmers.
