Fragrant Tea Series: Awaiting Spring’s Arrival draws on the visual and symbolic language of tea culture. The painting juxtaposes a contemporary female figure with traditional elements such as an antique iron teapot, an old tea canister, and blooming peonies. These contrasting motifs are arranged in visual harmony, evoking a quiet dialogue between the modern and the classical. The accompanying inscription further develops the theme with poetic lines that allude to presence, memory, and seasonal renewal. The composition reflects an approach influenced by Western still-life traditions. Objects and the central figure are arranged in a zigzag layout, creating depth through spatial contrast and variation in height and grouping. Ink lines and tonal washes are handled with delicacy, lending the scene both elegance and dynamism.
