Chyuk Teh-Hua (b. 1954, South Korea) earned his BFA from National Taiwan Normal University, followed by both BFA and MFA degrees from Sydney City Art Institute, and an MFA from the Australian National University. He taught at Chung-Ming High School, Tunghai University, and National Taichung University of Education. A former student at Lee Chun-Sheng’s atelier, Chyuk is known for his sculptural practice, and has held numerous solo and group exhibitions across Taiwan and abroad.
Since 1993, Chyuk has worked extensively with stainless steel wire, transforming this industrial material into transparent, linear sculptures that interact closely with light and space. White Delta is composed of multiple interlocking triangles formed by sleek metal lines. These ordered lines create a complex, airy structure that casts overlapping shadows and highlights the interplay between presence and absence, solidity and void. As viewers move around the work, its spatial quality shifts—appearing alternately two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or even evoking a fourth dimension of time and motion. The piece becomes an ever-changing spatial experience, reflecting Chyuk’s reflections on perception, dimensionality, and the shifting realities of the internet age. Through geometric precision and ephemeral light-play, White Delta becomes both sculpture and spatial phenomenon.
