Huang Chiu-Yueh (b. 1965, Taichung) graduated from the Department of Art and Crafts Education at National Hsinchu Teachers College (now National Tsing Hua University). She previously taught at Shuntien and Jungong Elementary Schools in Taichung. After retiring, she dedicated herself fully to artistic creation. Her works have received awards at prestigious exhibitions, including the Provincial Art Exhibition, Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition, Taiwan Provincial Public Educators Exhibition, Taiyang Art Exhibition, National Oil Painting Exhibition, and Tainan Art Exhibition. She has been active in various art groups such as the Huludun Art Research Association, Central Taiwan Fine Arts Association, and the Modern Art Society.
Inexhaustible Treasure - 11 is part of Huang’s ongoing Inexhaustible Treasure series, which explores nature as a boundless and ever-giving source—an infinite wellspring of inspiration and vitality. Working in an abstract idiom, Huang expresses her reverence for nature through richly layered textures and dynamic surface treatments. In this piece, she employs a range of techniques—collage, fluid pours, splashing, rubbing, and knife scraping—to create a complex interplay of density and transparency, thickness and thinness, wetness and dryness. These overlapping textures suggest forms that emerge and dissolve, evoking the elusive, ever-shifting rhythms of the natural world. Marked by expressive strokes and a sense of compositional stability, the work reflects an inner emotional landscape transmuted into form. The result is a visual meditation on abundance and depth, inviting viewers to see the world’s hidden wealth not as a material possession but as a spiritual and aesthetic resource that never runs dry.
