Tsai Wei-Hsiang (b. 1962, Caotun, Nantou County) graduated from National Changhua University of Education. He is an active member of several art associations in central Taiwan and has long participated in regional exhibitions and artistic initiatives.
His watercolor Uncontainable Spring was selected for the 2013 National Art Exhibition and was also included in the 8th Taichung Artists Relay Exhibition. The painting presents a quiet corner of Lukang in the warm light of a late afternoon. Slanted sunlight enters the room, filtering through layered birdcages and casting overlapping shadows. This use of light brings depth and animation to an otherwise still interior. The interplay between light and form enhances the composition’s dimensionality and conveys a subtle sense of movement. Through this work, Tsai offers a view of everyday tranquility in Lukang, rendered with sensitivity to atmosphere and structure.
