Flame is a vivid red ceramic sculpture characterized by twisting curves and dynamic form, evoking the rhythmic motion of fire in mid-burn. Upon closer inspection, the fiery abstraction reveals the figure of a woman. The upward surge of flame becomes her prayerful, joined hands; the erratic flares reaching outward represent her stylized, contorted body. Through the geometric layering of forms, Huang creates shifts in perspective—each angle offering a slightly different experience. The varying thickness of the sculpture enhances the tension and vitality of the curves, making the entire piece appear to flicker and pulse with life. Flame embodies a continuous, radiant energy, like an eternal spark of the human spirit.
