Postage Stamps Commemorating Chiang Kai-shek

Introduction:Chiang Kai-shek passed away on April 5, 1975. His death anniversary was marked with releasing a set of "Commemorative Issue for the Anniversary of the Death of President Chiang Kai-shek" on April 4, 1976, Chiang Kai-shek's portrait and posthumous calligraphy, as well as the historical pictures of the visitation, mourning hall, hearse and funeral cortege, roadside mourning, the black marble sarcophagus at Cihu, and Cihu Mausoleum, were selected as the seven themes in designing the stamps. Yan Qishi designed the pattern of the stamp's borders. Hu Chongxian supplied Chiang Kai-shek's portrait. Government Information Office, Executive Yuan, provided the pictures of the visitation, mourning hall, hearse and funeral cortege, and roadside mourning. Wang Tieshi took the picture of the black marble sarcophagus at Cihu. And Huang Jiong offered the picture of Cihu Mausoleum.
