Flat Cap
Size:Length:27.3 x Width:25 x Height:8 (cm)
Introduction:The headwear that Chiang Kai-shek usually wore was a flat cap woven from dark brown and white wool. Inside the hat shows that it was made in Hong Kong. However, this flat cap appeared rarely in Chiang Kai-shek's candid photographs. The one that was commonly seen is an ecru casquette in plaid, which is displaying in Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Perhaps, he wore the flat cap in his later life, or used it in old age.
According to the provisions of military uniform, a casquette is a non-standard headwear and is worn when making an inspection tour or attending an unimportant occasion. It was mostly worn during his stay in off-islands.
