Introduction:The picture, mounted on an aluminum photo frame, shows Chiang Kai-shek sitting on a wicker chair. It doesn't have any description, and there is an emblem of sun-and-blue sky at the center of the upper portion of the frame. The picture was taken at a balcony of Zhongxing Guesthouse in Yangmingshan. President Chiang Kai-shek dressed in robes and stayed quietly and calmly. Beside him, there is a pot of yellow chrysanthemum, indicating a fine day with clear autumn sky and crisp air.

The Zhongxing Guesthouse was completed in November 1969. President Chiang spent summers at this resort from 1970 to 1972. According to Chiang's attendants, President Chiang sat here practicing meditation and read newspapers after getting up each morning, when he stayed here. This balcony did not originally have a shed, but later a wooden shed was added to shelter Chiang from the rain.
