Introduction：On July 6, 1923, Sun Yat-sen, the Father of the Nation pictured with Chiang Kai-shek (then Chief Staff of Generalissimo's Field Headquarters) at Guangzhou station, before they set out for Shaoguan to plan and prepare Northern Expedition there.
On March 2, 1923, Generalissimo's Supreme Headquarters was established in Guangzhou, and on March 17, Chiang Kai-shek was appointed as Chief Staff of Generalissimo's Supreme Headquarters. On May 9, Chen Jiongming took over the Dong River area and rebelled the second time. By the end of the May, Sun Yat-sen and Chiang Kai-shek visited the front line, and their troops defeated Chen's forces in Guangzhou. The picture was took in July at Guangzhou station, when Chiang Kai-shek was escorting Sun Yat-sen and they set out for Shaoguan to plan and prepare Northern Expedition there.
