Introduction:Chin’s enthusiasm for photography has never been interrupted. His late works even became diversified as he travelled all over the world and took pictures of cultural landscape from a non-restricted point of view. His works thus appeared natural and without deliberate arrangement. First serving as a photojournalist, he was keen to observe, sensitive but down to earth. He always reacted quickly to capture momentary images, and incorporates his own aesthetics when taking pictures.
The Mayan Girl of Guatemala and Lisu Girl of are both subject matter of ethnic minorities. The Lisu Girl have been particular about dressing since their childhood as their living environment is relatively good. However, Guatemala’ s economy and resources are relatively poor in all aspects. Many Mayan Girls have to help make money for their families when they are very young. At almost the same age, the face of the Mayan Girl appears to be a little more sophisticated. Chin used a long shot to capture the Mayan Girl with backlighting, highlighting the girl’s thoughtful eyes which seems to tell an unknown story.
