Description:By Lin Qiuwu (a.k.a. Venerable Zhengfeng). Published by Kaiyuan Chan Temple, Tainan, August 15, 1933. 153 pages. The cover is printed with the words "Rong Ding Collection," and the back shows the words "Buddhist Era Year 2499 Edition, respectfully collected by Xiaoyan (Cheng Yingzhe)."
After Lin Qiuwu returned to Taiwan in 1930 from Komazawa University in Japan, he felt that the Buddhist world at the time was mired in ignorance and corruption. Determined to push for reforms in Buddhist understanding, he set about writing books advancing his ideas in order to educate the populace and eliminate superstition. Many of these works were published in the magazines South Seas Buddhist Magazine and The Middle Way, one of the most renowned being the series "Plain Language Commentary on Straight Talk on the True Mind."
Straight Talk on the True Mind, by 13th century Korean Zen master Bojo Jinul, is a Zen Buddhist treatise completed in 1205, expounding the "cultivation of certainty and wisdom, and sudden enlightenment followed by gradual cultivation," and is enshrined in the 48th book of the Taisho Tripitaka. Lin applies a scientific viewpoint and easy-to-understand language to explain the ways of the spirit world, life and death, Buddhist thought, and enlightenment to the Taiwanese people, long haunted by demons. The book is based on a revision by Masatane Araki of the original text, which was published on January 17, 1932, at Yoyogi Academy in Tokyo. It contains a standard Ming Dynasty version as master text along with the text of the Korean Beomeosa edition printed in parallel. The title page bears an inscription by Zheng Qidong of Tainan, and the content includes annotations, commentaries, references and critiques, all in plain language.

其他說明:證峯‧林秋梧著，台南：開元禪寺，1933年（昭和8年）8月15日出版，153頁。書封蓋有「融定藏書」印記，封底則有「小煙程英哲佛曆2499年版敬藏」字樣。
林秋梧於1930年自日本駒澤大學返台後，因有感於當時佛教界中充斥著愚昧、腐化，因而決心推動佛教改革，故積極著書立說，希望能教化大眾，破除迷信，此類作品多發表於《南瀛佛教》和《中道》雜誌，其中最著名者，即為《真心直說白話註解》的連載。
《真心直說》由高麗知訥禪師所撰，是一部闡述「定慧雙修、頓悟漸修」之理趣的禪籍，完成於高麗熙宗即位元年（1205年），收錄於《大正藏》第48冊。林秋梧以科學的觀點、淺白的用語，為「苦於鬼神久矣」的台灣同胞註解鬼神、生死、佛理、解脫之道；原文採用昭和7年（1932年）1月17日東京代代木書院發行之荒木正胤校訂本，並以明藏本為底本，與朝鮮梵魚寺本對照。書名頁由台南鄭啟東題字，內容包括註、解、備考、批評，皆以白話記述之。
