Description:The inaugural issue of Spring Breeze was first published on November 11, 1979, just as the non-party movement was raging and grass-roots strength was increasing day by day. Huang Shunxing was the magazine’s honorary publisher, the poet Zhan Che (Zhan Chaoli) was the actual publisher, Wang Tuo was the chairman, and the editor was Su Qingli (using the penname Su Yifan). In addition were many others from the cultural community, like Wang Jinping, Li Rizhang, Chen Yingzhen, Yang Kui, and Jiang Xun who were social affairs members. Its inaugural statement started with “Spring is the blossoming season for all of life; and the spring breeze sends a message predicting the arrival of Spring!” making clear that the publication of this magazine was for the purpose of “sending a message predicting the Spring.” The magazine adhered to the overall guideline of standing on the side of the broad public and speaking for the working class and the farmers at the lower end of society. For example, cover stories at the time included “What is the Government Doing for the Farmers?,” “Atomic Electric Power—Does it Have a Future?,” and “The Worker Can’t be A Loser Forever” fully reflected the core direction and the concerns of the magazine.

其他說明:《春風》雜誌發刊於黨外運動風起雲湧、草根力量日漸茁壯的1979年11月1日，由黃順興擔任榮譽發行人，詩人詹澈（詹朝立）為發行人，社長王拓，總編輯蘇慶黎（使用筆名蘇逸凡）；另有多位文化界人士如王津平、李日章、陳映真、楊逵、蔣勳等出任社務委員。其發刊辭開端「春天，是所有生命的旺季；而春風，預報了春的訊息！」點明這本刊物的發行是為了預報「春的訊息」；其所秉持的宗旨是站在社會大眾的立場，為底層勞工、農民發聲；例如當期封面文章〈政府為農民做了些什麼〉、〈核能發電有前途嗎？〉、〈勞工不能永遠是輸家〉等，便充分反映其取向與關懷核心。
