Description:Hong Qisheng wrote innumerable poems during his lifetime. This poetry collection is one of his three most representative works. The Xuejiao Collection covers the years 1886 to 1895, the year of Taiwan's cession to Japan, and includes 35 poems, including “Ballad of Xizhou” and “Eight Poems of Jinling.” Most of these poems represent the imagination of a Qing dynasty intellectual and poet and at the same time express his dissatisfaction with the late-Qing political situation. The title “Xuejiao”was words created by the author. Because of the peculiar usage of characters, most readers and specialists do not understand its meaning.

2.洪棄生一生寫詩無數，這卷詩集屬三套最具代表性者之一。《謔蹻集》成文於清光緒12年（1886）至21年（1895）年，收錄〈西洲曲〉、〈金陵八詠〉等35首詩，多為洪棄生以清朝知識份子的立場書寫身為中國詩人的想像，同時也藉由詩作表達對晚清政局的不滿與批判。詩集名稱「謔蹻」為作者自創詞彙，由於用字特異，多數讀者方家皆不解其義。
