Description:In 1949 the police prohibited two students from Taiwan National University and Normal College (now Taiwan Normal University) from riding two-to-a-bike because they were “contravening traffic regulations.” They then took them back to the police station for questioning before they were let go. This led to student protests and serious clashes with the police. More than 60 students were arrested, some even disappeared or were executed in what become called the “April 6th Incident.” This was one of the major student incidents of the immediate postwar period. Mao Wenchang was one of the students arrested and interrogated. In September of that same year Mao received a “non-prosecutorial disposition report” from the Taipei District Court stating “there is no clear evidence sufficient to prove suspicion of a criminal act.” Mao Wenchang put this document in an official “Provincial Taiwan Normal College” envelope that has lasted to this day; on the upper right-hand corner of the envelope are the hand-written words “rare holding” and on the recipient line in the middle the words “crystallization of suffering.”

其他說明:1.肇因於1949年警察依「違反交通規則」條例，取締台灣大學、師範學院（今「台師大」）兩位學生共騎一輛腳踏車，並將之帶回警局審訊後飭回，而引發學生抗議、與警察嚴重衝突，六十多名學生被捕，甚至失蹤、被槍斃的「四六事件」，是戰後初期台灣重大學生事件之一；毛文昌是被拘捕偵查的學生之一。同年9月，毛文昌始接獲台北地方法院判定其「並無確切證據足以證明犯罪嫌疑」之「不起訴處分書」。毛文昌將此「四六不起訴書」裝在右上角寫有「珍藏」兩字，中間收信人欄位寫「苦難結晶」之「台灣省立師範學院」專用信封，留存至今。
